On July 17, 2024, the IV Bishkek Logistics Forum on the theme "Concept for the Development of Logistics and Transport in the Kyrgyz Republic - 2040" was held at the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov. The event brought together leading experts in logistics, government representatives, international specialists, and members of the country's business community.
The forum was organized by the National Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov.
The forum began with an official opening and welcome speeches. Among the speakers were Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic Bekzhan Rysmendiev, Professor Peter Tamash from the University of Miskolc (Hungary), and Professor John Kreter from Kettering University (USA), who joined online.
After the welcome speeches, participants listened to plenary reports. Special attention was drawn to the presentations by Professor A.S. Umetaliyev on the role of logistics in the economic development of Kyrgyzstan and Director of the National Institute for Strategic Initiatives under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S.T. Mukanbetov, who presented the main provisions of the project "Concept for the Development of Logistics in the Kyrgyz Republic".
The forum continued with a series of reports covering a wide range of topics: from the region's transport logistics connectivity to the digitalization of customs processes and the development of Kyrgyzstan's railway infrastructure. Advanced technologies for a sustainable supply chain, the export potential of the halal industry, and strategic trends in logistics development in the Russian Federation were also discussed.
After the break, forum participants took part in panel discussions, where they discussed the prospects and key areas for the development of logistics and transport in Kyrgyzstan until 2040.
The IV Bishkek Logistics Forum became an important platform for the exchange of experiences and knowledge, as well as for the development of strategies aimed at improving the efficiency of Kyrgyzstan's logistics system. The forum participants unanimously noted the necessity of implementing modern technologies and innovative approaches to achieve sustainable development in logistics and transport in the country.
The forum concluded with the summing up of results and the adoption of a resolution, which will be sent to the relevant government bodies for further consideration and implementation. Participants expressed confidence that the joint efforts of all stakeholders would help achieve the ambitious goals set in the "Concept for the Development of Logistics and Transport in the Kyrgyz Republic until 2040".
