On December 20, 2019, the Conference on the Interim Results of the implementation of the 2018-2020 National Action Plan within the Open Government Partnership in Kyrgyzstan was held at the Orion hotel. Two of our 2nd-year students, Kaliyeva Ayan and Kulseitov Eldiyar, were invited to the conference as participants in the essay writing competition, Open Government Through my Eyes and were rewarded with certificates and prizes. At the end of the conference, Kaliyeva Ayan made a speech briefly outlining her vision of open government, including a public procurement sphere. Their essays will be published on the open government website (http://ogp.el.kg/).
The conference was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister, co-chair of the national open government forum, Altyn Omurbekova, and vice-speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Aida Kasymalieva. Parliamentary deputies, representatives of the government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Supreme Court, the National Forum of the Open Government, international organizations and civil society attended the conference.
