The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany signed an agreement on technical and financial cooperation for 2019-2020

On May 29, 2020, a ceremony marking the signing of agreements between the government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the government of the Federal Republic of Germany for technical and financial cooperation for 2019-2020 was held at the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

These agreements were signed by the Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Sanzhar Mukanbetov on behalf of the government of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the ambassador of Germany to the Kyrgyz Republic, Monica Iversen, on behalf of the government of the Federal Republic of Germany.

These agreements reflect the main areas of bilateral development and cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany.

The volume of grants allocated under the bilateral financial and technical cooperation within the framework of the above agreements is set to amount to €41.8 million. These funds will be provided by the FRG after the ratification of the agreements in the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The government of the Federal Republic of Germany has assisted since the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, assistance which is closely intertwined with the priorities and tasks of the government of the Kyrgyz Republic. It should also be noted that the government of the Federal Republic of Germany is one of the main partners of the government of the Kyrgyz Republic, along with other various countries and international donor organizations with which cooperation for development is conducted.
