The Prime Minister Akylbek Zhaparov laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new assembly and manufacturing plant for passenger cars and commercial vehicles called "Altyn Tulpar Una Kurulush" in the village of Ak-Suu, Chui region. This was reported by the government's press service.

In his speech, Zhaparov noted that the cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan has reached a new level.

"Today's laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the car assembly and manufacturing plant is evidence of this. It is a strategically important project for both countries," he said.

It should be reminded that the agreement to build the plant on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic was reached during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Kyrgyzstan in January 2023.

At the initial stage, the plant's production capacity will be 10,000 vehicles per year, and more than 1,000 permanent jobs will be created.
